Chat, warps and emotes in the field
  • Friends render as real in-world characters with exact outfit and animation sync — even wolf form, with Midna riding along.
  • Chests, switches, doors, keys and story flags sync live across the party.
  • Open a chest and the reward is granted to the whole party.
  • In-game chat with slash commands: /who /warp /emote /code /leave /help.
  • Nameplates, hearts, off-screen direction arrows and minimap blips keep every teammate in sight.

Under The Hood

How Mokalight is built

Credit where it's due — standing on excellent upstream work.

Rendering

The Aurora backend

Rendering runs on the Aurora backend — WebGPU / Dawn, translated to Direct3D 12, Vulkan or Metal for native speed on every platform.

Lineage

A fork of Dusklight

Mokalight is a fork of Dusklight — by the Twilit Realm team — itself built on the community Twilight Princess decompilation. Mokalight adds the online layer on top.

Netcode

ENet UDP netcode

Networking uses ENet over UDP with a host-authoritative shared world, so every player stays in sync.

Licensing

Permissively licensed

Built from permissively-licensed components — with full credit to the upstream projects it stands on.

A fan project — not affiliated with, or endorsed by, Nintendo. The Legend of Zelda and Twilight Princess are trademarks of Nintendo.
